Mark Haddad founded Lumen Law Group to offer institutional-quality counsel with the direct involvement and focus clients rarely find at large firms. With over 25 years of experience, Mark has held senior roles at Sullivan & Cromwell, Jones Day, and as General Counsel of a global investment firm.

He personally leads every engagement, drawing on a selective network of former Big Law and financial professionals when needed to support complex or fast-moving matters. His approach is highly engaged, pragmatic, and shaped by decades of working on high-stakes transactions and cross-border strategy.

Mark began his legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell, advising on corporate and securities law, complex financial products, and landmark transactions. At Jones Day, he chaired the Project Finance Practice, leading global M&A, structured finance, and development matters, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

As General Counsel to a multi-strategy investment manager with offices in New York, London, and Hong Kong, he oversaw all legal and regulatory matters, with a focus on governance, investor relations, and global compliance. His financial grounding—developed at Goldman Sachs and PwC—enables him to align legal structure with commercial strategy in ways clients find both clear and actionable.

Mark is known for his ability to anticipate problems before they arise, manage complexity without overcomplicating, and bring legal structure to bear on business outcomes. Clients value his judgment, candor, and disciplined execution.
